Base Salary
$180k - $280k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and evolve monitoring and observability systems for hundreds of thousands of desktop and browser-extension installations.
- Define measures of recorder reliability, data-capture health, and Workflow Mapping system availability.
- Own backend ingestion services connecting captured data to processing and AI pipelines.
- Improve background-job reliability and task orchestration for dependable data movement.
- Design, deploy, and operate production services in AWS while using observability to troubleshoot and improve them.
- Set technical direction and drive feature, reliability, and observability roadmaps across teams.
- Lead cross-team technical work, clarify ownership, unblock engineers, and establish scalable architecture and maintainable code.
Requirements
- Deep backend engineering experience and ownership of complex production systems at Staff-level scope.
- Strong Python skills and working familiarity with TypeScript and Go.
- Experience designing and operating distributed systems and large-scale data ingestion pipelines.
- Experience building monitoring and observability systems for detecting, diagnosing, and resolving production failures.
- Experience with message queues, background jobs, and task orchestration tools such as Celery, SQS, RabbitMQ, or Kafka.
- Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining production services in AWS.
- Ability to turn ambiguous problems into technical roadmaps, align engineers across teams, and carry work from design through production operation.
- Preferred experience monitoring large fleets of desktop applications, browser extensions, or other distributed clients.
- Django experience is preferred.
- Startup or other fast-paced, high-growth environment experience is preferred.
