Responsibilities
- Collaborate with software engineering, testing, business, and application teams on performance and quality activities.
- Estimate testing work, meet project testing timelines, and independently manage performance testing lifecycle tasks.
- Design, plan, and execute automated UI and API performance tests and analyze the results.
- Define, develop, and apply performance and scalability benchmarks for complex solutions.
- Identify bottlenecks across application layers using profiling and monitoring tools, then provide root cause analysis and improvement recommendations.
- Analyze system and database performance metrics, including CPU, memory, network, garbage collection, and database data.
- Participate in architecture and design reviews and own the quality perspective for cross-team engineering efforts.
- Report defects using standardized tools and processes, prepare status reports, monitor issues, publish results, and obtain signoff.
- Provide technical assistance to improve system performance, capacity, reliability, and scalability.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of proven professional experience is required.
- Three to five years of experience is expected in microservice development, Java/J2EE performance tuning, database performance tuning, garbage collection, and heap analysis.
- Strong knowledge of JMeter, BlazeMeter, Postman, and LoadRunner, including the ability to create complex test scenarios.
- Experience designing UI and API performance test scripts for enterprise applications using JMeter and BlazeMeter.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Grafana, AppDynamics, and Datadog.
- Experience with profiling tools, bottleneck identification, profiling snapshots, root cause analysis, and performance experiments.
- Experience analyzing CPU utilization, memory, network usage, garbage collection, database parameters, and database reports.
- Experience with service-oriented architecture, RESTful APIs, and performance-tuning SQL queries.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Flexibility to coordinate and provide support during onshore hours when needed.
