Base Salary

$110k - $130k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture strategy, design reviews, and implementation guidance for illustration applications.
  • Define solution architecture standards, technical roadmaps, and engineering best practices.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Implementation teams to translate business objectives into scalable technical solutions.
  • Drive AI-first development and build agentic customer-facing applications with real-time recommendations, decision support, and interactive help.
  • Lead Azure cloud adoption, microservices modernization, API design, platform scalability, and migration from legacy and on-premises deployments.
  • Provide architectural leadership and technical oversight to multiple Scrum teams, including design reviews, story refinement, and code quality guidance.
  • Establish integration architecture between illustration applications and other applications.
  • Participate in production support rotations and resolve customer-impacting production issues.
  • Create architecture artifacts, technical standards, reference implementations, and proof-of-concept solutions.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, application architecture, or solution architecture roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Deep expertise designing and delivering enterprise-scale applications with Microsoft .NET technologies.
  • Strong experience architecting cloud-native solutions in Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience building and modernizing distributed systems using microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, architecture frameworks, and engineering best practices.
  • Experience guiding multiple engineering teams through complex technical initiatives and architectural decisions.
  • Proven ability to develop technical roadmaps and lead large-scale modernization efforts.
  • Experience with production support and incident management processes.
  • Expertise in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and cloud delivery practices.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in Agile software development environments and supporting Scrum teams.
  • Previous experience with illustration, annuity, wealth management, insurance, or financial services platforms is preferred.
  • Experience supporting customer-facing enterprise SaaS products is preferred.
  • Azure certifications or demonstrated Azure architecture and cloud engineering expertise are preferred.
  • Experience leading geographically distributed engineering organizations is preferred.

Benefits

  • Base salary is listed as $110,000-$130,000 USD or $100,000-$120,000 CAD, plus equity for full-time employees and an annual performance bonus.

  • The role is in office Monday through Thursday with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday.
