Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, test, and maintain Java and Java EE applications across backend and web layers.
- Develop, consume, integrate, and maintain RESTful web services.
- Work with Spring, Hibernate, JSF, Angular, relational databases, and SQL as required by the assigned project.
- Design and implement database interactions and investigate application, integration, database, and performance issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in requirements discussions, technical design, Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and feature delivery.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for application components, interfaces, configurations, and support procedures.
- Use Git or an equivalent version-control system and follow coding, branching, release, testing, security, and quality standards.
- Improve application performance, reliability, scalability, maintainability, usability, and long-term supportability.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of Java software development experience is required, with the position targeting candidates with 5–10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong experience with Java, Java EE, object-oriented programming, Java web development, and one or more of Spring, Hibernate, or JSF.
- Experience with relational databases, SQL queries, database integration, and troubleshooting.
- Experience developing, consuming, or integrating RESTful web services.
- Experience using Git or an equivalent version-control system and working with Agile software development practices.
- Angular experience is preferred, along with TypeScript or JavaScript knowledge for Angular integration.
- Knowledge of secure application development, authentication, authorization, input validation, secure data handling, and web application security risks.
- Preferred experience includes automated testing, build automation, continuous integration and delivery, code-quality analysis, logging, monitoring, cloud deployment, performance optimization, and database migration or tuning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered.
- Java, software development, Agile, cloud, or related certifications and relevant technical training are preferred but not mandatory.
