Base Salary

$140k - $180k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement on-board decision-making models that recommend and adapt strategies in real time.
  • Develop autonomous decision algorithms integrating perception, state estimation, and intent prediction models.
  • Research, train, and deploy machine-learning models for decision-making.
  • Build decision models that adapt to mission context, environmental conditions, and system status.
  • Develop frameworks for continuously reevaluating active strategies under uncertainty.
  • Support real-time autonomy in communications-limited and time-critical scenarios.
  • Build and maintain autonomy infrastructure, testing frameworks, and deployment pipelines for space missions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, machine learning, robotics, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of industry experience in autonomy, decision-making, or control systems for aerospace or robotics.
  • Strong proficiency in C++, Python, PyTorch, and TensorFlow.
  • Demonstrated experience applying machine learning to decision-making or control problems.
  • Experience with optimal control, planning, or reinforcement learning in real-time systems.
  • Familiarity with multi-agent decision-making or planning under uncertainty.
  • Preferred experience implementing autonomy applications in real-time or safety-critical environments.
  • Preferred experience integrating perception and prediction outputs into decision frameworks.
  • Preferred familiarity with resource-aware strategy selection, hierarchical planning, adaptive control, distributed ML training, cloud-based ML scaling, real-time systems, multi-threading, performance optimization, distributed autonomy, networking, and communication protocols.
  • Preferred experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure; Linux, Git, CI/CD pipelines; Docker; and Kubernetes.
  • Must meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements.
