
Internal Systems Engineer (Applied AI)

Responsibilities
- Build AI-powered tools and agents for Customer Operations workflows.
- Consult with business stakeholders on AI possibilities, logic, prompts, and agentic workflow design.
- Build and maintain a shared agent platform with templates, approved patterns, deployment infrastructure, hosting, monitoring, and API connectivity.
- Develop internal software, integrations, automations, and custom Freshdesk widgets.
- Own the full lifecycle of internal applications, including building, hosting, monitoring, maintenance, and retirement.
- Turn successful business-led pilots into production-ready systems while preserving stakeholder input and creative control.
- Create AI evaluation, quality, safety, and regression-testing systems.
- Partner with and teach non-technical teams so they can build and operate agents through self-service tooling.
Requirements
- Proven experience building, hosting, and maintaining production applications and tools using languages such as Python or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Deep experience working with REST APIs and connecting SaaS platforms to automate data flows and actions.
- Hands-on experience with LLM orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph, MCPs, RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, DAG and linear flows, and human-in-the-loop systems.
- Experience designing and running LLM evaluations, including LLM-as-a-judge systems, accuracy and safety testing, and regression pipelines.
- Ability to design reusable templates, abstractions, and deployment patterns for self-service use by other teams and non-engineers.
- Ability to map complex operational workflows and understand interactions among tools, teams, and data flows.
- Ability to collaborate with and teach non-technical business stakeholders.
- Experience building custom Freshdesk applications or integrations, or working with comparable systems such as Zendesk or Jira.
- Background working with Customer Support, Customer Success, or Onboarding teams.
- Experience integrating with knowledge-base platforms such as GitBook or similar documentation sites.
- Experience taking automation projects from concept through deployment in a large, complex organization.
- Experience building internal platforms or developer tools for self-service use by other teams.
- Experience with monitoring and observability for AI systems in production.
- Self-directed, action-oriented approach to building and deploying internal applications.
