Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, low-latency C#/.NET backend services for ingesting, transforming, normalizing, and serving client risk data.
- Build and operate personalized data and risk feeds supporting KnowRisk position and budget modeling and Strategy Builder hedge recommendations.
- Process user data and usage signals for AI risk models and expose data through APIs and streams.
- Architect high-throughput event-driven pipelines using Kafka or ActiveMQ and support reliable asynchronous processing.
- Own data quality, lineage, entitlement, encryption, auditability, and security for sensitive client data.
- Design schemas, APIs, documentation, and architecture while participating in reviews, design sessions, and agile ceremonies.
- Collaborate with Data & Analytics and Intelligence Weaving teams and provide technical mentorship and architectural guidance.
- Evaluate new technologies and AI-assisted development tools for the risk-data platform.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional backend development experience with C# and .NET, including .NET Core.
- Strong experience building and operating ingestion, transformation, and normalization pipelines for large or high-throughput datasets.
- Hands-on experience with event-driven or messaging systems such as Kafka or ActiveMQ and asynchronous processing.
- Strong Microsoft SQL Server/T-SQL and/or PostgreSQL skills, plus experience with NoSQL databases, schema design, and query optimization.
- Experience designing scalable, performant, secure, and highly available RESTful and/or gRPC APIs.
- Hands-on Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud experience, with Azure preferred.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, multithreading, performance, authentication, authorization, permissioning, caching, logging, and security.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and English-language skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Preferred qualifications include risk management, hedging, commodities, financial markets, AI/ML model integration, AI-augmented data products, time-series data, data warehouses, ETL, data lineage, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and leadership or mentorship experience.
