Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Contribute to system architecture, technical design discussions, and engineering decision-making.
  • Write production-grade code, conduct code reviews, document systems, and promote engineering best practices.
  • Develop automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests and ensure adequate coverage across services and APIs.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across distributed systems and microservices while supporting reliable production operations.
  • Translate business requirements into technical designs, implementation plans, and effort estimates.
  • Evaluate tools, frameworks, and processes to improve productivity, performance, and code quality.
  • Collaborate with Architects, DevOps, Product, and Support teams.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support high availability and reliability.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design reviews, knowledge sharing, and engineering culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
  • 5–8 years of software development experience with strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks such as React.
  • Experience designing and building REST and/or gRPC APIs in microservices architectures.
  • Understanding of cloud-native architecture and experience with AWS services.
  • Experience implementing automated testing strategies using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Jest, or similar frameworks.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Spinnaker.
  • Experience creating HLDs, LLDs, RFCs, and other technical design documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and technical writing skills.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or GitHub Copilot and prompt engineering techniques is ideal.
  • Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk or Dynatrace is ideal.
