Base Salary
$190k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own one or more integration domains end to end, including roadmap, architecture, trade-offs, scoping, and delivery.
- Make architectural decisions involving system boundaries, API contracts, reliability targets, and build-versus-buy trade-offs.
- Architect and deliver production-grade microservice integrations connecting the platform with cybersecurity tools and third-party services.
- Design and implement traditional and AI-native integration patterns, including REST, GraphQL, streaming APIs, MCP, and LLM-powered automation.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, pairing sessions, and code reviews, and raise the team's technical capabilities.
- Set technical direction and champion quality, documentation, secure coding, and distributed-systems best practices.
- Use LLM-based coding assistants, AI-driven testing, automated code review, scripting, and internal tooling to improve engineering workflows.
- Automate builds, deployments, monitoring, and incident triage and help drive AI adoption across the engineering team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of backend software development experience, including at least 3 years in a Staff-level or technical lead role owning a domain or leading a team.
- Proficiency in Python, Go, or Java and strong experience building and operating production microservices.
- Deep experience with API design and integration, including REST, GraphQL, streaming, LLM APIs, embedding services, OAuth, API keys, and rate limiting.
- Strong background in distributed systems, message queues such as Kafka and RabbitMQ, or orchestration frameworks such as Celery and Airflow.
- Demonstrated regular production use of AI tools such as Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT to accelerate engineering workflows.
- Track record of mentoring engineers and improving a team's technical capabilities.
- Strong system design, debugging, communication, and technical trade-off explanation skills.
- Preferred experience includes cybersecurity domains such as SOAR, EDR, SIEM, or XDR; large-scale data processing; real-time pipelines; event-driven architectures; AWS, Azure, or GCP; Kubernetes; Helm; MCP; function calling; agent orchestration frameworks; or systems incorporating LLMs and AI services.
