Responsibilities
- Build and improve customer-facing package registries, APIs, and artifact-serving systems.
- Implement projects from technical design through testing, release, rollout, monitoring, and iteration.
- Develop and operate Go backend services serving libraries and additional artifact types.
- Improve scalability, reliability, observability, performance, and load testing for production systems.
- Participate in technical design discussions involving service boundaries, APIs, data flows, and operational patterns.
- Collaborate with engineering and product partners across the company.
- Review code, share knowledge, and contribute to a supportive engineering team.
- Investigate and resolve production issues while developing operational judgment.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience building software, including some backend or infrastructure experience.
- Experience with Go, or strong programming experience in another language with the ability to learn Go quickly.
- Experience contributing to software projects from implementation through testing and release.
- Interest in customer-facing infrastructure such as package registries, artifact repositories, APIs, or developer platforms.
- Familiarity with testing, code review, debugging, and version control.
- Exposure to deploying or operating production services, or strong interest in developing those skills.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure or infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform is helpful but not required.
- Systems-oriented thinking, curiosity, clear communication, collaboration, and ability to work effectively remotely.
- Preferred qualifications include 5+ years of backend or infrastructure experience, strong Go or backend systems experience, ownership of production projects, high-scale serving infrastructure experience, and strong reliability, observability, performance, security, and operational judgment.
