Base Salary
$95k - $157k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver software features for Cisco networking platforms and connected infrastructure.
- Build reliable system-level components and address technical challenges involving operating systems, networking, and hardware-software integration.
- Participate across the full software development lifecycle, including refining requirements and implementing solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering partners in agile teams.
- Automate quality validation and help maintain continuous product performance.
- Take ownership of key deliverables while developing broader technical expertise.
Requirements
- Meet one of the stated education and experience pathways: a recently completed or soon-to-be-completed bachelor's degree with 0 years of work experience; an associate's degree, apprenticeship, boot camp, or certification with 1 year of work experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of work experience.
- Have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrate proficiency in C or C++ and strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented or procedural systems design.
- Understand operating systems fundamentals, including processes, threads, memory management, and synchronization.
- Understand core networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
- Have hands-on Linux or Unix development experience with command-line tools, GDB debugging, and Git version control.
- Preferred qualifications include co-op, internship, or project experience with Embedded Linux, POSIX APIs, RTOS, or microcontroller platforms.
- Preferred qualifications include familiarity with BGP, OSPF, VLANs, ARP, and Wireshark.
