Responsibilities

  • Validate firmware features and interoperability for Nokia optical coherent pluggable firmware.
  • Develop and execute manual and automated test strategies for CMIS-compliant coherent modules.
  • Enhance existing Python scripts and create new automated test cases.
  • Analyze test reports, allocate firmware bugs, and investigate or reproduce customer field issues.
  • Set up and support optical test equipment and components in the Ottawa firmware system integration test laboratory.
  • Use AI toolkits to improve AI-powered testing processes and collaborate on testing workflow improvements.
  • Document test procedures and results for continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Typically 1-2 years of directly related experience and a graduate equivalent degree.
  • Proficiency in Python programming, including Python automation and test frameworks.
  • Knowledge of CMIS specifications.
  • Understanding of optical module hardware/software interfaces, including I2C, I3C, UART, and SGMII.
  • Hands-on experience with optical transmitter and receiver characteristics, digital diagnostics, and optical module performance.
  • Experience with data center operations.
  • Hands-on experience with telecommunications traffic generation, optical test equipment, and log analysis.

Benefits

  • On-site work in the Ottawa office/lab is required at least 3 days per week.
