Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, integrate, and maintain L1 software components for Ericsson’s 5G processing platform and cloud/COTS environments.
- Implement and enhance Physical Layer baseband features across deployment scenarios and 3GPP-defined frequency bands.
- Analyze requirements and contribute to technical solutions balancing performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot complex issues and optimize software for real-time, containerized, virtualized, and cloud-native environments.
- Apply wireless communication protocol knowledge, including NR/5G, LTE, WCDMA, and WLAN.
- Participate in code reviews, inspections, design discussions, sprint planning, estimation, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain test coverage, software designs, system analyses, and test plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Communications Systems, AI/ML, or a related field.
- 0–4 years of professional experience in a relevant domain.
- At least 2 years of experience with embedded software, low-level programming, and cloud-ready systems.
- At least 3 years of C/C++ software development experience focused on embedded or systems-level programming.
- Experience with real-time or concurrent embedded software development and systems programming.
- Experience with wireless communication fundamentals and L1 software for standards such as NR, LTE, WCDMA, WiMAX, or WLAN.
- Comfort working in a Linux development environment.
- Experience with configuration and delivery tools such as Git, Gerrit, and Jenkins or similar tools.
- Awareness of cloud concepts and platforms, and interest in applying AI and machine learning to software development or wireless systems.
- Strong analytical, debugging, communication, collaboration, adaptability, and ownership skills.
