Base Salary
$200k - $288k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the data modeling product surface, including APIs, schemas, and abstractions.
- Design abstractions for creating and managing queryable data.
- Define freshness and staleness semantics for materialized views.
- Design APIs with strong schema taste, ensuring versioning and compatibility.
- Drive requirements and shape the execution engine based on product needs.
- Layer complexity to accommodate both SREs and data engineers.
- Lead a team technically, setting architectural direction and mentoring engineers.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience with expertise in databases, SQL, or stream processing.
- Deep knowledge of data processing or streaming internals.
- Experience designing and shipping APIs with strong DB schema design.
- An architect's mental model, thinking in systems and long-term evolution.
- Strong sense of user empathy and product intuition.
- Proficiency in Go or another systems language for production-grade code.
