Responsibilities
- Remediate identified security vulnerabilities across infrastructure and automation codebases.
- Design, implement, and validate secure, stable, and maintainable code changes.
- Integrate vendor, open-source, and internally developed solutions into the infrastructure platform.
- Develop and maintain Python automation and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated test coverage, and release validation.
- Create test plans and validation procedures and test complex changes in lab and pre-production environments.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, security, and application teams to assess impact and complete remediation.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, documentation, and technical planning.
- Contribute to platform reliability, security posture, and engineering-practice improvements.
Requirements
- Strong Linux engineering skills covering configuration, troubleshooting, system-level diagnostics, and operational support.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and the challenges of safely changing, testing, and operating them.
- Strong Python development skills and the ability to write robust, maintainable, production-quality code.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and release automation.
- Experience with automated and manual testing, test planning, validation procedures, and rollout planning.
- Experience with large-scale production environments and understanding of operational risk.
- Understanding of security principles, vulnerability remediation, secure coding, and system hardening.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across operating systems, infrastructure services, automation, networking, and application integration points.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive complex problems through resolution.
- Strong communication skills for explaining technical risks, options, and recommendations.
- Experience with Perl, infrastructure-as-code, configuration-management tools such as Ansible or SaltStack, VMware ESXi, virtualization, private cloud infrastructure, vulnerability management, security scanning, remediation workflows, or audit and compliance requirements is advantageous.
