Responsibilities
- Own and support research infrastructure across cloud environments, GPUs, workstations, servers, and development environments such as GitHub.
- Design and implement automation that improves reliability, security, and research productivity.
- Build tools, scripts, and workflows using Python, PowerShell, Azure, and DevOps technologies.
- Advise on deployment architectures, hosting options, access control, security, and operational best practices.
- Partner with researchers and engineers to identify bottlenecks and develop scalable solutions.
- Support internal and external events and oversee contract staff responsible for physical infrastructure such as networks, telephones, and printers.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, security, compliance, and IT teams and contribute to shared tooling and research projects.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, technical operations, DevOps, systems engineering, or software development.
- Hands-on experience administering Linux and/or Windows systems.
- Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms.
- Proficiency with communication and content management platforms such as Teams and SharePoint.
- Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or similar scripting languages.
- Strong understanding of security fundamentals, access control, identity management, and enterprise security practices.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with GPUs, AI/ML infrastructure, high-performance computing, complex hardware/software/cloud troubleshooting, software or research projects, procurement and budgeting, and support-team management.
