Principal Engineer, Developer Experience (DevEx)

Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the organization-wide DevEx strategy with engineering leadership.
- Align Core Developer Experience and Cloud/Platform Developer Experience efforts across the end-to-end developer journey.
- Establish and standardize developer productivity metrics and engineering insights, including DORA and DX measures.
- Guide the evolution of internal developer platforms and self-service capabilities.
- Improve CI/CD consistency, reliability, speed, and predictability.
- Lead adoption of AI-enabled SDLC practices with safe experimentation, standards, guardrails, and scalable engineering practices.
- Partner with engineering, SRE, and platform teams to influence technical direction without direct ownership.
- Serve as a technical leader and mentor for DevEx strategy and execution.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in Developer Experience, Platform Engineering, and large-scale engineering systems.
- Strong software engineering background with deep systems and operational thinking.
- Proven experience defining and driving cross-organizational technical strategy across platform, cloud, CI/CD, and developer tooling domains.
- Experience with internal developer platforms, self-service ecosystems, developer productivity metrics, engineering insights, and CI/CD systems at scale.
- Recent experience driving or adopting AI-enabled development workflows across the SDLC.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures and Kubernetes-based platforms.
- Familiarity with progressive delivery, including feature flags and canary releases.
- Ability to align teams and stakeholders without direct authority, balance local needs with global optimization, and communicate with engineering and leadership audiences.
- Familiarity with frontend platforms or microfrontend architectures is preferred.
- EST or UK timezone availability for closer overlap with direct team members is preferred.
