Responsibilities
- Lead or support the architecture and development of high-precision digital twins of flight systems and mission environments using AirSim and Unreal Engine.
- Design and maintain highly scalable simulation infrastructures for reinforcement-learning training of autonomous flight agents.
- Validate simulation results against real flight data and manage or contribute to sim-to-real alignment, including sensor noise and environmental parameters.
- Create and optimize visualizations of flight paths, target tracking, and swarm telemetry for ground-control-station integration.
- Orchestrate large-scale synthetic-data generation across conditions such as extreme weather and camouflage scenarios.
- Design and implement electronic-warfare simulation scenarios involving GPS spoofing and communication losses.
Requirements
- Completed university studies in computer science, game-engine development, aerospace engineering, physics, or a related field; a master’s degree or doctorate is especially desirable for the senior position.
- Professional candidates need practical experience or strong academic knowledge in simulation frameworks and 3D-rendering engines, preferably Unreal Engine or AirSim.
- Senior candidates need several years of relevant experience with simulation frameworks and rendering engines, especially Unreal Engine and AirSim, plus demonstrated complex technical architecture or technical leadership experience.
- Deep understanding of, or strong interest in, 3D physics engines, EO/IR sensor simulation, and machine-learning data pipelines.
- Strong C++ and Python skills for developing simulation functions, adapting engines, and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Fluent German and English language skills.
