  • Implement runtime-efficient in-vehicle software on automotive systems-on-chip.
  • Build backend infrastructure for constructing, storing, and processing maps for production ADAS/autonomy functions and machine-learning training.
  • Apply automated techniques to generate maps from raw data and improve internal map viewing and editing tools.
  • Contribute broadly to the Stuttgart autonomy team and help shape program and product direction.

Requirements

  • MSc in mapping, localization, or a closely related field.
  • At least three years of experience building software components or subsystems addressing real-world mapping and localization challenges.
  • Hands-on experience with more than one relevant software framework or tool, such as middleware, benchmarking suites, datasets and related pipelines, or algorithmic libraries.
  • Deep understanding of localization concepts, world representations and transforms, mapping and localization intersections, and error analysis and characterization.
  • Knowledge of analyzing and comparing hardware solutions for localization.
  • Expertise in C++ and/or Python.
  • Preferred: PhD in mapping, localization, or a closely related field.
  • Preferred: Hands-on expertise in SLAM, probabilistic filtering, nonlinear optimization, computational geometry, numerical analysis, or distributed systems.
  • Preferred: Experience with large-scale data processing frameworks and development on automotive systems-on-chip and middleware.

Benefits

  • 30 days of paid vacation per year.
  • Daily meal benefits, including lunch and dinner budgets plus free breakfast, snacks, and drinks in the office.
