Responsibilities

  • Design and implement motion-planning and controls modules deployable across vehicle platforms.
  • Enable highly accurate autonomous navigation in tight scenarios.
  • Characterize customer vehicle dynamics to create tailored controls solutions and reduce the simulation-to-reality gap.
  • Evaluate academic research and develop optimal-control-based solutions using nonlinear MPC and MPPI control.
  • Contribute infrastructure-side and vehicle-side enablement work for the autonomous-vehicle stack.
  • Interact with users and customers to collect feedback and take ownership of technical and product decisions.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience building production software using modern software practices.
  • Hands-on experience testing controls solutions on real, production-grade vehicles.
  • Fluency in control theory, numerical optimization, numerical analysis, and physics.
  • Experience writing high-performance C++ code.
  • Passion for challenging motion-planning or motion-control problems and practical solutions to cutting-edge challenges.
  • Preferred: MSc or PhD in mechanical engineering or computer science with coursework or research experience in motion planning or controls.
  • Preferred: experience writing safety-critical C++ compliant with guidelines such as MISRA and AUTOSAR.
  • Preferred: experience using quadratic programming solvers or nonlinear optimization tools.
  • Preferred: experience applying machine learning to vehicle dynamics modeling.
  • Preferred: experience with large industrial or commercial vehicles and passenger cars.
