Base Salary
$200k - $288k/yr
Responsibilities
- Explore new database technologies and innovate to enhance Postgres capabilities.
- Design and develop Postgres extensions for Snowflake.
- Implement novel query optimization and transaction management algorithms.
- Address distributed systems challenges including protocol design and fault-tolerance.
- Analyze performance bottlenecks and devise solutions.
- Own end-to-end project delivery from solution identification to production rollout.
- Contribute to architectural design and mentor other engineers.
- Collaborate with product groups across different time zones.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of software engineering experience in high-performance software.
- Experience with Postgres internals and its extension framework.
- Strong fundamentals in computer science and databases, including SQL and distributed systems.
- Fluency in C preferred.
- Motivation to learn and deliver innovative solutions.
- Proven track record in high-velocity engineering teams.
