Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Technical QA team, including performance management and career development.
  • Translate the Polaris QA strategy into practical testing approaches, team priorities, and measurable outcomes.
  • Own testing execution, milestone verification, technical quality standards, and project readiness assessment.
  • Monitor quality metrics, KPIs, bug trends, risks, blockers, and mitigation plans.
  • Collaborate with Production, Development, Tech, Shared Development Services, QA experts, other QA leads, and external QA vendors.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, test plans, test reports, dashboards, and quality summaries.
  • Improve QA workflows, testing frameworks, reporting models, technical metrics, and test management processes.
  • Provide hands-on assistance with technical investigations, issue analysis, debugging, performance analysis, crash analysis, and memory investigations.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience leading or managing Tech QA teams.
  • At least five years of experience with direct performance management and career development.
  • At least five years of experience in game development.
  • Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, bug workflows, defect management, test planning, test coverage, technical QA practices, and quality reporting.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine or an in-house engine and its editor tools.
  • Ability to develop and execute testing strategies covering integration, stress, performance, stability, tools, engine, platform, and technical feature validation.
  • Experience with QA metrics, KPIs, bug trends, profiling tools, crash analysis, memory investigations, platform-specific testing, or console development environments.
  • Experience with Unreal Insights, engine profiling, and crash debugging.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, ownership, accountability, and leadership skills.
  • Experience creating technical documentation, test plans, test reports, dashboards, or quality summaries.
  • Experience working with external QA vendors, distributed QA teams, or cross-location development teams.
  • Preferred experience with AAA titles, programming or scripting in C++ or Python, automation frameworks, automated test authorship, build verification, or technical validation workflows.
  • Interest in The Witcher universe and passion for high-quality player experiences in large-scale RPGs.
