Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Wi-Fi and networking driver components in an open-development environment.
- Create and document software specifications and designs for QNX customers.
- Estimate requirements, design, implementation, and testing efforts.
- Communicate project status, risks, and technical approaches to development teams, technical leads, and management.
- Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and unit testing with technical peers.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve complex software problems and inadequacies.
- Liaise with customers regarding product performance, problems, and system design.
- Develop custom software solutions based on customer requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of software department approaches and standards.
- Coach and mentor the team on engineering best practices, software quality, safety standards, scalability, reliability, and performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience developing Wi-Fi drivers, including STA, AP, P2P, and multi-mode implementations.
- Thorough knowledge of at least one of PCIe, SDIO, or USB interfaces.
- Good knowledge of Wi-Fi authentication and encryption methods.
- Understanding of wpa_supplicant and hostapd.
- Good understanding of Wi-Fi control and data paths.
- Expertise in C and Python.
- Good knowledge of Linux operating system internals.
- Experience with QNX is a strong plus.
