Base Salary
$117k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop end-to-end software for security data pipelines, including ingestion, canonical data stores, and downstream consumers.
- Own system architecture for endpoint protection platforms and author system design and architecture decision records.
- Design and build APIs, policy evaluation engines, integration adapter registries, and projection and aggregation services.
- Improve platform reliability through availability monitoring, alerting, infrastructure hardening, and rotating on-call support.
- Audit cloud infrastructure against security standards, create uplift plans, and execute infrastructure and application security improvements.
- Architect, configure, manage, and deploy intrusion-prevention technologies; investigate vulnerabilities, active adversaries, and threat intelligence.
- Establish engineering standards, conduct reviews, mentor engineers, and lead cross-functional technical collaboration.
- Communicate technical reports and performance presentations to engineering, executive, customer, and industry audiences.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of core software development experience with multiple programming languages and platforms.
- Strong database engineering, API development, data pipeline, event-driven architecture, and distributed-systems experience.
- Experience delivering large, sophisticated software projects across multiple public product releases and the full software lifecycle.
- Experience with infrastructure hardening, operational reliability, alerting, availability monitoring, and MTTR reduction.
- Ability to design systems at scale, lead architecture reviews, create design documentation, and develop performance and scalability strategies.
- Experience with engineering processes including pull request reviews, design reviews, sprint execution, documentation, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Ability to mentor engineers and collaborate with engineering teams, architects, executives, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Related technical degree required.
- Preferred experience includes endpoint detection and response, vulnerability scanning, security tooling ecosystems, and security data pipelines.
- At least 2 years of experience in a computer network-related occupation and in Unix/Linux administration, Windows environments, hardening guidelines, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, and secure infrastructure operations.
- Experience with security engineering, vulnerability analysis, firewalls, encryption, TCP/IP networking, OSI, TCP, SDN, security detection technologies, and network, host, and application security.
- Experience writing Python or Ruby automation and applying core protocols and cryptographic standards to secure implementations.
