Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end development lifecycle for web applications, workflows, automation solutions, and AI-agent solutions.
- Evaluate business problems and select appropriate application, workflow, automation, or AI-agent architectures.
- Design and develop significant or complex enhancements across client, server, and data tiers.
- Investigate and resolve high-severity issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts to translate functional requirements into technical specifications.
- Build and maintain integrations, including AI-agent tools and MCP servers connecting to systems and data.
- Coordinate with IT teams to deploy and scale application instances based on performance and business needs.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and system degradation.
- Support commodities trading users and solutions across the full trading cycle.
Requirements
- Solid server-side programming experience in at least two of C#, Python, or Java.
- Extensive experience with React or Angular, JavaScript or TypeScript, and CSS.
- Solid database knowledge and ability to write performant queries across relational and other database systems.
- Experience designing, building, and consuming APIs, with understanding of RESTful architecture and GraphQL.
- Experience with workflow orchestration or automation tooling.
- Fluent daily use of Claude Code and Claude Cowork across the software development lifecycle.
- Practical experience building or extending AI-agent tools and MCP servers.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.
- At least 10 years of hands-on full-stack development experience.
- At least 4 years of experience in a technical lead role.
- Experience in commodities trading or related industries.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with the oil and crude business specifically is preferred.
- Exposure to commodity trading platforms or CTRM systems is preferred.
- Experience working with distributed or cross-regional engineering teams is preferred.
- AWS exposure is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, prioritization, adaptability, and attention-to-detail skills.
