Responsibilities
- Design and optimize Go algorithms for state diffing, validation, and real-time drift detection across large-scale multi-tenant API topologies.
- Architect and maintain high-performance Go SDKs and core libraries for Kong’s Konnect SaaS platform.
- Define extensible REST API contracts with attention to compatibility, versioning, and developer experience.
- Build spec-driven tooling using OpenAPI and AsyncAPI to generate SDKs, client libraries, and infrastructure-as-code definitions.
- Develop fast, intuitive CLI experiences for developer workflows and high-concurrency CI/CD automation.
- Build and extend Terraform providers and integrate new runtime capabilities as native API primitives.
- Implement comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, benchmarking, and robust software architecture.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with global backend and platform teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience delivering production-grade backend systems and developer tools using Golang.
- Proven expertise designing developer-friendly REST, gRPC, and OpenAPI schemas, including backward compatibility and versioning.
- Production experience with Terraform provider development, Kubernetes operators, or stateful CI/CD automation pipelines.
- Strong software engineering rigor involving clean code, automated testing, benchmarking, and robust architecture.
- Ability to communicate complex technical decisions, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across teams.
