Base Salary
$160k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop highly reliable data solutions used across K2 Space, from factory floors to mission control.
- Create and evolve data designs that improve spacecraft design, manufacturing, and operations.
- Partner with engineers, business partners, and leaders across disciplines to understand challenges and design efficient solutions.
- Own data solutions from concept through full-fledged product delivery.
- Lead data architecture, optimize data systems, and ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Evaluate data-design tradeoffs and advocate for technical solutions with engineering leaders.
- Use data to prioritize work and design high-impact solutions.
- Contribute to a culture of transparency, empathy, integrity, and engineering excellence.
- Mentor staff members and help teammates develop engineering practices and culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, mathematics, or a STEM discipline, or 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong experience with data modeling, schema design, entities, relationships, and data constraints.
- Strong experience with data migration, normalization, schema mapping, serialization, data pipelines, ETL, and real-time or near-real-time replication and mirroring.
- At least 8 years of in-depth experience with structured databases such as MS SQL, PostgreSQL, and Snowflake.
- At least 5 years of in-depth experience with hosted database solutions such as AWS RDS and AWS PostgreSQL.
- At least 3 years of experience with CI/CD deployment.
- Working experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and REST APIs; AWS EKS experience is preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience with unstructured databases such as NoSQL, Amazon DynamoDB, MongoDB, or similar.
- Preferred experience includes distributed data designs such as caching, sharding, and data validation; public-cloud data warehouses; data systems for physical-product manufacturing; and AWS Redshift.
- Must be a U.S. person under ITAR or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export-control license.
