Base Salary
$185k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor engineers while promoting engineering best practices.
- Own defined engineering problems from design through implementation and production.
- Build and extend identity and access management capabilities, including authentication, authorization, RBAC, and OAuth/OIDC flows.
- Improve AWS and cloud infrastructure security, configuration, and operational guardrails.
- Improve performance, security, and optimization for high-volume transactional databases.
- Harden APIs, services, and distributed systems against failure and abuse.
- Participate in incident response and remediation, address root causes, and improve observability.
- Partner with the Security/CISO team to design and ship durable fixes for identified security gaps.
- Solve complex problems across multiple user personas and workflows.
- Build and scale performant, secure, customer-centric services and user-facing web applications.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience building precise and scalable distributed systems.
- Ability to independently own and deliver well-defined problems through production.
- Backend engineering expertise with comfort working across the full stack.
- A track record of building and shipping security, scale, or infrastructure improvements rather than only reviewing them.
- A B.A. or B.S. in a relevant field such as Computer Science or a similar Engineering or Mathematics discipline is ideally preferred.
- Technical aptitude and ability to learn modern technology stacks quickly.
- Fintech, payments, or experience in security-sensitive and highly regulated environments is a plus.
- Strong ownership, communication, resilience, assurance, and creative problem-solving skills.
