Base Salary
$165k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, measure, and maintain highly scalable backend services and complex distributed systems.
- Develop robust data-processing pipelines for billions of high-throughput events and terabytes of data daily.
- Build and scale real-time search, recommendation, and vector-search pipelines.
- Work with Product and architecture teams to select and implement effective technology solutions.
- Manage integration projects from conception to completion in a Scrum environment.
- Own service health in production through monitoring, on-call rotations, incident response, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and reliability improvements.
- Use AI coding assistants for prototyping, feature delivery, and troubleshooting while maintaining rigorous code review and engineering practices.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Engineering.
- At least 5 years of hands-on Java development experience with the Spring Framework.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including MySQL and Cassandra.
- Experience with big-data processing and analytics tools such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Google BigQuery.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience using Git and with backend integrations, microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and event-driven messaging such as Kafka.
- Experience building and scaling real-time search, recommendation, or vector-search pipelines using Vespa or comparable technologies such as Elasticsearch or Solr.
- Ability to design scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems and take end-to-end ownership.
- Experience supporting production systems, participating in on-call rotations, troubleshooting live issues, and driving root-cause fixes.
- Clear technical communication and effective cross-team collaboration, including coordination with the Tel Aviv team.
- Preferred experience developing models, algorithms, or infrastructure for large-scale data-mining and machine-learning systems.
- Python development experience is a bonus.
