Base Salary
$168k - $262k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain foundational software services and interface systems for Amazon Leo government customers.
- Develop high-data-rate network-layer packet processing systems using Software Defined Networking.
- Define and demonstrate software interfaces and architectures in simulated test environments.
- Solve complex technical problems involving Amazon Leo’s satellite constellation for government customers.
- Lead internal and vendor teams in delivering software and interface requirements.
- Ensure systems meet performance, availability, reliability, upgradeability, interoperability, and security requirements.
- Communicate project health, risks, issues, results, and visualizations to stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
- Escalate urgent issues and drive them to closure.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 5 years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- At least 5 years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader.
- Preferred: at least 5 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to U.S. government requirements.
