Java Software Engineer III
JPMorgan ChaseResponsibilities
- Design, develop, code, debug, and maintain secure and scalable software components.
- Troubleshoot technical problems and resolve design and functionality challenges with limited supervision.
- Consider upstream and downstream system dependencies and technical implications when implementing solutions.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation tools for coding, refactoring, testing, and documentation, while validating generated outputs.
- Apply responsible AI practices, including data sensitivity awareness, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security standards.
- Analyze diverse data sets to identify problems and support secure, stable application development.
- Work across the full Software Development Life Cycle.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
- Proficiency with backend technologies including Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database querying languages.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and the ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and secure handling of data and outputs.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, including S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, and MSK.
- Preferred experience with AWS, Test-Driven Development, Behavior-Driven Development, Claude Code, or Copilot.
