Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical execution and scoping of highly complex, ambiguous projects addressing core product limitations.
  • Design and implement scalable backend systems that manage massive query volumes.
  • Make physical design and implementation decisions for performance at scale.
  • Build flexible internal tooling capabilities and configurable serving-layer solutions.
  • Author comprehensive technical designs, contribute to critical code paths, and perform code reviews.
  • Identify and resolve cost-performance, query-latency, and throughput bottlenecks as datasets grow.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience building or developing infrastructure, distributed systems, networks, compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
  • 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  • Experience designing, tuning, or building vector search systems is preferred.
  • Experience architecting and deploying large-scale systems across a major cloud platform is preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of distributed systems, including partitioning, replication, consistency models, and stateful versus serverless trade-offs, is preferred.
  • Strong backend systems engineering experience with high-throughput data access layers, custom APIs, concurrency controls, and persistent storage engines is preferred.
