Responsibilities
- Design, develop, ship, and maintain TypeScript features across React frontends and backend services.
- Own project delivery from requirements and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and post-release improvements.
- Design and implement reliable APIs that query, aggregate, and serve data at scale.
- Build and operate cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform.
- Provide on-call first response, troubleshoot production issues, and implement durable fixes.
- Create test plans and contribute to unit, integration, and end-to-end automated testing.
- Review code, designs, test plans, and documentation to improve engineering quality.
- Mentor IC1 engineers and interns and share technical knowledge with the team.
- Improve developer experience through better tooling, test coverage, and code structure.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, UI designers, Cyber Analysts, and engineers to deliver security outcomes.
Requirements
- Approximately 3 or more years of professional software engineering experience shipping production systems, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript and a modern frontend framework, preferably React.
- Experience designing and building backend services and REST or GraphQL APIs.
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, software design, and debugging.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, including schema design and query work.
- Experience writing unit, integration, and end-to-end automated tests and conducting code reviews.
- Ability to scope ambiguous work, reason through trade-offs, and deliver reliably with limited guidance.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to mentor junior engineers.
- BSc in Computer Science or a related numerate discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred experience with AWS, Terraform, CDK, production operations, on-call rotations, observability, incident response, distributed systems, large-scale data systems, cybersecurity, and AI-assisted developer tools.
