Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and optimize VMware vSphere-based private cloud infrastructure across multiple global datacenters.
- Build automation with PowerShell/PowerCLI, Ansible, Python, and CI/CD tools for provisioning, configuration, and compliance.
- Administer, harden, tune, and troubleshoot Linux and Windows Server environments supporting enterprise and SaaS workloads.
- Integrate and manage hybrid Active Directory for authentication, access control, and service accounts.
- Manage or partner on firewalls, VPNs, storage, networking, and F5/AVI load balancers for highly available services.
- Document architectures and runbooks, participate in on-call and change-management activities, lead complex incidents, and mentor engineers.
- Influence long-term reliability, infrastructure modernization, and automation strategy.
Requirements
- 10+ years of systems or infrastructure engineering experience, including large-scale enterprise or SaaS datacenter environments.
- Deep hands-on production experience with VMware vSphere, including ESXi, vCenter, DRS, HA, vMotion, and distributed switches.
- Strong Linux administration experience with RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu, including performance tuning, hardening, and advanced troubleshooting.
- Solid Windows Server and Active Directory experience, including Group Policy, DNS, authentication, and access integrations.
- Proven experience building and maintaining automation with PowerShell/PowerCLI, Ansible, Python, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with Git or other version-control systems.
- Understanding of SAN/NAS storage, TCP/IP networking, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and production monitoring and alerting.
- Ability to lead complex incidents, communicate clearly, collaborate across teams, and work in an on-call, high-availability environment.
- Preferred experience with Pure Storage or Cisco UCS.
- Preferred familiarity with Terraform, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD tools.
- Preferred exposure to CIS benchmarks, NIST, ISO 27001, or comparable security and compliance frameworks.
