Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot client issues involving ArcGIS Enterprise application deployment and system architecture.
  • Design and deploy ArcGIS cloud-based web applications and data management strategies for large-scale Homeland Security deployments.
  • Engage with customers as a technical ArcGIS expert, assess their needs, and anticipate requirements.
  • Solve complex IT infrastructure, application design, development, and user-experience problems.
  • Develop Python and JavaScript tools and applications for GIS task automation, including map production, web service publishing, data-source updates, and web map generation.
  • Support deployment management, metrics, user access, and other critical automation tasks.
  • Develop data-driven solutions for incident operations and national security events using ArcGIS products.
  • Write technical design specifications and support documentation.
  • Suggest and demonstrate new technologies and approaches and estimate development effort with subject-matter experts and leads.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, Earth Sciences, Engineering, an IT-focused discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 2 years of geospatial solution engineering experience.
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance and willingness to undergo a government-issued background investigation.
  • Programming experience with Python and JavaScript.
  • Experience troubleshooting Esri ArcGIS Enterprise application deployment and system architecture.
  • Understanding of ArcGIS infrastructure, including hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, and cloud computing.
  • Experience administering ArcGIS Enterprise.
  • Working knowledge of web servers, web browsers, HTTP methods, and browser developer tools.
  • Strong understanding of geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology.
  • Industry-standard IT certifications from organizations such as Esri, CompTIA, Microsoft, or Amazon are recommended.
  • Experience supporting distributed and disconnected ArcGIS Enterprise environments is recommended.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, database maintenance, and web server maintenance is recommended.
