Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain advanced character animation systems and tools that complement generative models.
  • Collaborate with machine learning researchers, engineers, animators, and game designers on animation features and workflow improvements.
  • Optimize and debug animation code and systems for usability, performance, memory, and stability across multiple target platforms.
  • Prototype animation techniques including procedural generation and physics-based systems.
  • Mentor junior programmers and contribute to code reviews, code quality, and documentation.
  • Plan project milestones with lead engineers and deliver high-quality work on schedule.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in game programming focused on character animation systems.
  • Strong proficiency in C++ and experience with performance optimization.
  • Deep understanding of real-time 3D animation principles, kinematics including IK/FK, and rigging systems.
  • Strong mathematics skills, particularly linear algebra and vector math.
  • Experience with large-scale game engines such as Unreal Engine, Unity, or proprietary engines; Unreal Engine is preferred.
  • Preferred qualifications include Motion Matching, procedural animation, physics simulation, Maya or Blender, prior AAA title shipping, parallel programming, CUDA, and compute shader experience.
