Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, resilient customer-facing applications with React and Node.js.
- Build and maintain resilient microservices and APIs on AWS Cloud.
- Implement functionality across distributed components and services in a CI/CD cloud environment.
- Write high-quality code following coding, security, and testing best practices.
- Support production systems through on-call coverage, deployments, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, operations, design teams, and other stakeholders while sharing knowledge and following technical standards.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of professional experience building APIs with Python or Node.js and customer-facing applications with React.
- Experience designing and building REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, including MySQL and DynamoDB.
- Familiarity with full-stack architectural patterns such as micro-frontends and backend-for-frontend systems.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, REST, and XHR.
- Experience collaborating with design teams to combine aesthetics and functionality.
- Hands-on experience writing unit, integration, and system tests using tools such as Jest, Storybook, Playwright, Cypress, and Catchpoint.
- Production experience with AWS Cloud services such as S3, SNS, SQS, and API Gateway, as well as serverless infrastructure.
- Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools and modern development practices, including Jenkins, Docker, and EC2.
- Experience building observability into front-end systems using tools such as CloudWatch, Dynatrace, and Splunk.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration in an agile/scrum-team environment.
Benefits
- Canada-based starting base salary is $88,000–$128,700, with offers based on experience and geographic location.
- Compensation may include annual cash bonuses, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
- The role may require in-person onboarding and/or in-person identity verification.
