Base Salary
$182k - $228k/yr
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product engineering, core services, and platform teams to develop distributed, scalable microservices.
- Drive decomposition of the legacy monolith to extract payment and billing functions into independently deployable services.
- Own and evolve critical Billing, Invoicing, and Payments capabilities for Turo’s marketplace.
- Write maintainable, high-quality code; conduct testing and code reviews; and oversee deployment processes.
- Identify and implement improvements to application architecture and technical design.
- Create tools and utilities for diagnosing and resolving ecosystem issues.
- Provide technical guidance and raise engineering standards through architectural decisions.
- Produce appropriate technical design documentation.
Requirements
- 8–10+ years of experience shipping high-scale code to production.
- Fluency in at least one programming language such as Java, Kotlin, Python, Go, or C.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, database concepts, distributed systems, and search.
- Experience with logging, monitoring, and alerting systems and tools.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field is a bonus qualification.
- Experience building and scaling payments and billing systems is a bonus qualification.
