Responsibilities
- Drive the technical direction and next-generation architecture of the Falcon Kubernetes Platform.
- Design and implement distributed systems, control planes, and APIs operating across thousands of clusters and substrates.
- Create and present complex design documents and architectural strategies to senior technical and cross-functional audiences.
- Evaluate and integrate open-source technologies into the platform software stack.
- Identify architectural gaps, propose solutions, and guide implementation across the engineering team.
- Architect and operate planet-scale systems, including APIs and asynchronous workflows.
- Mentor engineers, set technical priorities, lead concurrent initiatives, and influence architecture decisions across teams.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in Golang and working shell knowledge of Bash or equivalent programming languages.
- At least 8 years of experience with distributed systems, APIs, Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration at scale.
- At least 5 years of experience with AWS and/or GCP services.
- Strong experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Experience with CI/CD services such as Jenkins, Argo, and Spinnaker.
- Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ElasticSearch, and Argus.
- Track record of architecting and operating planet-scale systems and owning major design decisions.
- Deep experience designing and operating APIs and asynchronous workflows at scale.
- AI proficiency, including applying AI tools to accelerate design, development, and operations.
- Strong grasp of DevOps principles and the ability to establish them across a team.
- Excellent technical leadership, mentorship, communication, and stakeholder-influence skills.

- The stated base salary range is $197,300-$313,700 annually, with a separate $237,700-$344,700 annual range in select San Francisco and New York City metropolitan areas; bonus, equity, and benefits are excluded from these ranges.
