Responsibilities
- Develop efficient, idiomatic Go services using appropriate concurrency, error handling, logging, configuration, and dependency management.
- Design microservice boundaries, APIs, dependencies, resiliency patterns, health checks, graceful shutdown, and distributed services.
- Develop gRPC services with Protocol Buffers and REST APIs, including contracts, versioning, error handling, and documentation.
- Build PostgreSQL data-access layers, write optimized SQL, design indexes and transactions, and manage schema migrations.
- Create unit, integration, and API tests with mocks and fixtures, and automate test execution in CI/CD.
- Deploy and troubleshoot services on Kubernetes, including Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Ingress, probes, scaling, and resource limits.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, improve reliability and performance, and collaborate with DevOps and SRE.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of overall software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Go/Golang.
- Experience building backend microservices and scalable distributed systems.
- Experience with gRPC, Protocol Buffers, REST APIs, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, unit testing, and integration testing.
- Preferred experience with Docker, CI/CD, AWS, Azure, GCP, Kafka, RabbitMQ, observability, OpenTelemetry, API gateways, OAuth2, JWT, and TLS.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
