Senior kdb+ Developer, Vice President
State StreetResponsibilities
- Design and develop key components of BestX’s multi-asset analytics platform.
- Architect, build, and maintain kdb+ tick systems, including data organization, schema design, and architectural trade-offs.
- Develop and operate systems processing large-scale, high-frequency datasets with low latency, high throughput, and efficient memory utilization.
- Analyze and optimize q queries, data models, and ingestion pipelines for real-time and historical workloads.
- Work across cloud-based, server-side, and database-driven systems.
- Develop knowledge of Transaction Cost Analysis and regulatory benchmarks for MiFID and MiFIR.
- Own deliverables from design through production and promote engineering best practices, clean code, and sound design patterns.
- Improve engineering standards and ways of working, including Test-Driven Development and shift-left practices supporting CI/CD pipelines.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on kdb+ development experience.
- Strong expertise in kdb+/q and Python.
- Proficiency with Jupyter, pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn, including applied machine-learning experience.
- Experience with parallel computing frameworks such as Slurm or equivalent technologies.
- Strong quantitative analysis skills, including mathematical modeling, statistics, regression, and probability theory.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related STEM discipline from a top-ranked university.
- Hands-on experience with AWS or other modern cloud-based infrastructure.
- Preferred domain knowledge in FX, fixed income, equities, or equity derivatives.
- Preferred exposure to JavaScript build toolchains including Node.js, npm, Rush, Yarn, Webpack, Babel, and Cypress.
