Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance reusable Java applications.
- Develop and maintain responsive frontend components using React JS and JavaScript.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries for DB2 or Oracle relational databases.
- Build scalable microservices and RESTful APIs for distributed backend-to-frontend integration.
- Work with messaging systems including RabbitMQ and IBM MQ.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
- Write automated unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito.
- Document software components and code, participate in peer reviews and design discussions, and support knowledge sharing.
- Analyze requirements, propose technical solutions, identify technical risks, and address performance, security, and availability concerns.
- Conduct demos and facilitate acceptance discussions with Product Owners.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of overall professional experience.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent professional IT qualification.
- Proven Java development experience, preferably with Java 17 and at minimum Java 8.
- Strong knowledge of Spring Framework 6 and Spring Boot 3.
- Hands-on experience with TDD, BDD, JUnit, and Mockito.
- Demonstrated frontend development experience with React JS and JavaScript.
- Experience with DB2 or Oracle relational databases, RESTful API design, microservices, and RabbitMQ or IBM MQ.
- Experience with Maven, Docker, Jenkins, and Git, including standard branching strategies.
- Understanding of secure coding standards such as OWASP, CWE, and SEI CERT.
- Broad experience with IT projects and enterprise systems architecture.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, debugging, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Exposure to Apache Camel or other integration frameworks, banking or payments, Agile/Scrum environments, JIRA, HP ALM, and automation testing frameworks is preferred.
