Responsibilities
- Build and advance Schwab’s Generative AI Operating System and production-grade Generative AI applications.
- Develop scalable cloud-native applications, microservices, RESTful APIs, data pipelines, and RAG-based solutions.
- Lead technical planning, prioritization, architecture, engineering standards, and full software development lifecycle execution.
- Guide engineering teams through Agile delivery, sprint planning, backlog management, release planning, and daily coordination.
- Drive code reviews, test-driven development, CI/CD, monitoring, observability, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with product owners, data scientists, analytics professionals, and technology partners to solve business challenges.
- Build, mentor, and grow high-performing engineering teams while influencing technical and business decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in software engineering, data science, or AI/ML.
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience using Python as a primary language.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience developing and deploying Generative AI applications, including LLM solutions, RAG, prompt engineering, or GenAI platforms.
- At least 3 years of technical leadership experience.
- Experience delivering cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform, including Cloud Run and Docker-based containerized services.
- Experience with Apache Airflow, Dataflow, or similar data orchestration and pipeline technologies.
- Experience developing microservices and RESTful APIs with FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks.
- Experience working with ReactJS, SQL, data modeling, and relational or NoSQL databases.
- Experience leading Agile delivery practices and engineering excellence initiatives.
- Preferred: master’s degree in a relevant technical or quantitative discipline.
- Preferred: experience with financial services or other regulated industries, LLMs, transformer architectures, LangChain, Hugging Face, vector databases, embeddings, RAG, AI evaluation, observability, PyTorch, TensorFlow, MLOps, Terraform, DevOps, GitHub, CI/CD automation, IAM, compliance, scalable microservices, and object-oriented software.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, collaboration, and leadership skills.
