Responsibilities
- Build, enhance, modernize, and support high-volume, low-latency real-time market data services.
- Develop applications and consume REST APIs and web services using Java and object-oriented design principles.
- Troubleshoot application and production issues and improve platform resiliency, scalability, observability, and operational excellence.
- Support legacy systems and modernization efforts involving Java and distributed systems.
- Collaborate with engineers, technical leads, architects, product owners, quality engineers, and infrastructure partners.
- Apply automation and emerging AI-enabled capabilities to improve software delivery, troubleshooting, testing, documentation, and engineering productivity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of software development experience.
- Experience developing applications with Java, object-oriented programming, software design principles, REST APIs, web services, Linux or Unix environments, relational databases, SQL, and Git.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with distributed systems, service-oriented or event-driven architectures, Kafka, IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, concurrency, multithreading, networking, memory management, and performance tuning.
- Preferred experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, Docker, Kubernetes, highly available production environments, legacy C++ applications, and financial services or market data systems.
- Preferred experience with Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Large Language Models, Machine Learning, Agentic AI, Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI Services, OpenAI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, Model Context Protocol, or AI-assisted development tools.
