Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, scale, and modernize cloud-native, event-driven microservices and RESTful APIs using Java and AWS.
- Design and build responsive web interfaces using JavaScript frameworks that integrate with backend object models.
- Instrument production systems, analyze telemetry, reduce latency, and optimize distributed systems for scale and resilience.
- Establish and maintain automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing with strong code coverage.
- Lead architecture discussions, code reviews, technical sizing, multi-quarter architectural initiatives, and peer mentorship.
- Optimize distributed event streams and data pipelines for enterprise-scale performance.
Requirements
- 14+ years of professional software development experience delivering scalable enterprise SaaS applications.
- Advanced Java expertise, including object-oriented analysis, design patterns, and multithreaded systems.
- Strong full-stack proficiency with JavaScript, modern JavaScript frameworks, HTML5, and CSS.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs, decoupled microservices, and distributed backend components.
- Commitment to automated testing, code coverage metrics, and continuous deployment workflows.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to product, UX, and senior leadership stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred experience with AWS cloud-native architectures and services including ECS, EKS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, and DynamoDB.
- Preferred experience with CI/CD pipelines, big data, data pipelines, machine learning product ecosystems, distributed tracing, observability, and APM tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, and Prometheus.
