Base Salary

$230k - $288k/yr

Responsibilities

Define and lead Headspace's AI architecture strategy.
Architect end-to-end AI systems with a focus on reliability and member impact.
Align AI strategy with company goals by partnering with executive and product leadership.
Author technical specifications for AI design principles and evaluation frameworks.
Drive responsible AI practices, including model evaluation and compliance.
Lead the selection and integration of AI/ML infrastructure.
Collaborate with Data Science and ML Engineering teams to improve AI systems.
Establish AI engineering standards and best practices.
Mentor engineers and technical leads in applied AI development.
Identify and evaluate emerging AI capabilities for Headspace's roadmap.

10+ years of software engineering experience, with 4 years in AI/ML systems.
Deep expertise in modern AI architectures and hands-on experience in production.
Proven ability to define AI strategy and influence executive stakeholders.
Strong command of responsible AI principles and ethical considerations.
Extensive experience with cloud-native AI infrastructure and MLOps practices.
Demonstrated ability to evaluate and integrate third-party AI providers.
Exceptional communication skills for articulating complex AI concepts.
Ownership mindset and ability to navigate ambiguity in decision-making.
