Responsibilities

  • Lead cloud and platform initiatives from concept through production.
  • Operate and evolve multi-region AWS application workloads and participate in out-of-hours on-call rotations.
  • Manage application workload maintenance, patching, backups, upgrades, and decommissioning.
  • Improve reliability, resilience, performance, efficiency, observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
  • Ensure cloud workloads meet security, compliance, governance, architecture, and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with application and engineering teams on cloud architecture and production enablement.
  • Improve developer experience through CI/CD pipelines, automation, tooling, templates, and standardized patterns.
  • Contribute to cloud design patterns, policies, standards, platform strategy, and governance.
  • Potentially provide line or technical leadership as the platform engineering capability matures.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience designing, building, and operating distributed AWS environments, including networking, IAM, security, observability, and monitoring.
  • Strong hands-on experience with cloud security, compliance, and governance in enterprise or regulated environments.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code such as Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tooling.
  • Hands-on expertise in SRE and operational excellence, including monitoring, alerting, reliability improvement, and incident response.
  • Proven ability to lead technical initiatives end-to-end while balancing robustness, efficiency, and developer usability.
  • Experience operating and supporting Kubernetes-based workloads in AWS.
  • Desirable experience supporting data, analytics, or modelling workloads in cloud environments.
  • Desirable familiarity with enterprise architecture principles and formal governance frameworks.
  • Desirable exposure to financial services, insurance, underwriting, or actuarial technology environments.
  • Desirable experience improving developer experience through tooling, templates, and platform capabilities.
  • Strong ownership, communication, influence, analytical problem-solving, and production incident-management skills.
