Responsibilities
- Develop Python and Bash tooling, CLI applications, pytest infrastructure, and hardware driver integrations for automated testing.
- Build and scale test frameworks and infrastructure for physical hardware test labs supporting hundreds of test benches and thousands of daily jobs.
- Diagnose and resolve flaky integration tests running in production CI.
- Debug embedded hardware and software using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, circuit wiring, and JTAG tools.
- Build on-target firmware and embedded software that interacts with PC-side applications and support embedded target bring-up.
- Administer Linux systems on physical machines, including networking, udev, kernel modules, and systemd configuration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience and at least 2 years of experience in system architecture and implementation.
- Proficiency with Python and Bash, CLI applications such as cmd2, pytest test infrastructure, and hardware driver libraries.
- Experience building test frameworks that interact with physical hardware and scaling infrastructure for hardware test labs.
- Ability to diagnose and fix flaky integration tests in production CI.
- Basic-to-intermediate hardware/software debugging skills, including logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, basic circuit wiring, and embedded target bring-up.
- Experience building on-target firmware or embedded software that interacts with PC-side applications.
- Experience with JTAG debuggers such as JLINK or Lauterbach and understanding of modern CI and HIL concepts.
- Proficiency with the Linux command line and Linux systems administration, including networking, udev, kernel modules, and systemd.
- Preferred experience with CI/CD pipeline design using Buildkite, Jenkins, or similar tools and self-hosted runners on physical machines.
- Preferred Bazel or monorepo experience in large codebases.
- Preferred familiarity with CAN/CAN-FD, LIN, FlexRay bus tooling, and SocketCAN.
- Preferred strong Nix/NixOS experience, including flakes, modules, derivations, fixed-output fetches, and VM tests.
