Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and modernize core UI systems, layout pipelines, input handling, and data-driven UI frameworks.
  • Profile, budget, and optimize runtime UI CPU cycles, draw calls, memory footprint, and frame-time stability.
  • Collaborate with UI artists, technical designers, rendering engineers, and gameplay engineers on complex cross-platform UI integration.
  • Lead technical investigations into complex UI and engine bugs and guide architecture decisions.
  • Mentor team members and partner with content creators and core technology teams.
  • Potentially build developer-facing tools, UI telemetry, and live-service UI pipelines.

Requirements

  • Strong C++ experience in performance-critical, real-time codebases such as AAA games, game engines, or complex interactive software.
  • Solid understanding of game UI architecture, including HUD and menu runtime systems, layout and draw pipelines, event and input handling, or data binding.
  • Strong knowledge of CPU and memory optimization, multithreading, debugging, and UI profiling tools or budgets.
  • Proven ability to break down complex problems and collaborate with content creators and core technology teams.
  • Experience with proprietary or commercial game engines such as Frostbite, Unreal Engine, or Unity is preferred.
  • Experience with game UI technologies such as Slate, UMG, custom vector or canvas rendering, or proprietary UI frameworks is preferred.
  • Experience building developer-facing tools, UI telemetry, or live-service UI pipelines is preferred.
