Responsibilities
- Maintain a deep understanding of core systems and their upstream and downstream dependencies.
- Contribute to and review code, establish standards, and ensure product and design specifications are met.
- Design and implement medium-sized projects and features across Rights and Avails Management applications.
- Support platform performance, scalability, resiliency, monitoring, and application health.
- Influence technical strategy and planning and promote adoption of new technologies and architecture patterns.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Lead cross-functional troubleshooting of complex issues.
- Build and maintain APIs, data integrations, event-driven workflows, backend services, and responsive web applications.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong SQL expertise, including database objects, relational database concepts, stored procedures, query optimization, and data modeling.
- Proficiency in Java and JVM languages with hands-on experience in Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Integration, and other Spring frameworks.
- Experience across the software development lifecycle, including continuous integration, unit and integration testing, functional testing, code reviews, and documentation.
- Experience designing, building, and integrating APIs.
- Experience with React.js, TypeScript, CSS3, and modern frontend development practices.
- Knowledge of OAuth, authentication, authorization, and access management.
- Practical experience with AWS services and related infrastructure, including S3, RDS, messaging, VPC, and CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Understanding of data integration concepts, event-driven architecture, and publish/subscribe messaging patterns such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, and SNS.
- Experience monitoring and maintaining application health and performance.
- Ability to apply object-oriented and functional programming principles.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or a comparable field, or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred qualifications include media distribution experience, AI-assisted coding tool experience, strong communication and collaboration skills, global-team experience, and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
